Cathy and Leah climbing the Diamond Tree Lookout in the name of Shire of Manjimup Heritage Assessment
Since 1993 Heritage TODAY has been a leading provider of advisory services in the field of heritage significance assessment. The team of Leah O’Brien and Cathy Day strongly supported communities owning their heritage and catered for a range of communities with distinct needs. Up until 2000 Leah and Cathy guided 35 Western Australian local government areas through the Municipal Heritage Inventory process focusing on significance assessment to help in town planning considerations. We provided innovative and responsible heritage consultancy services of the highest quality.

In 2000 Leah moved to other fields to focus on counselling and stakeholder engagement projects in a large engineering/professional services firm. Since then Cathy has been working independently as Heritage TODAY, continuing to help communities recognise the value of heritage planning. The completion of a Masters in Applied Cultural Heritage Studies in 2008 led to a new centre of attention – that of significance assessment of Museum Collections. Collections assessed range from those of small regional history museums from Wyndham down to Manjimup, and to industrial collections of the World of Energy and Yarloop Workshops.
Caring for yesterdays treasures today, to enjoy tomorrow.
